Summary email, app install, account deletion

Admins get the weekly summary by email on Mondays, the installed app shows unread counts and shortcuts, and you can delete your own account.

By Boyan Georgiev

This update covers four changes: the weekly summary now arrives by email, the installed app is easier to set up and shows unread counts, uploads keep the screen on, and you can delete your own account.

The weekly summary, by email

Every Monday, each studio admin gets the weekly summary by email at the studio's digest send time, in the studio's timezone. It lists at-risk projects, approvals that are waiting and unpaid invoices, up to five of each, and links back to the Weekly summary page. If all three lists are empty, no email is sent. Each admin can turn it off with the Weekly summary email switch in Settings → Notifications.

Installing the app

On iPhone and iPad, the notifications settings card and the bell now explain how to get notifications: tap Share, then Add to Home Screen, open Studioscope from the Home Screen and turn notifications on. In Chrome and Edge, an Install app button appears in the notifications settings card and the user menu until the app is installed.

Once installed, the app's icon shows your unread notification count and clears it when you've read everything. Right-clicking the icon, or long-pressing it on Android, offers Dashboard, Projects and Chat shortcuts. See Files and Approvals for the work those notifications point to.

Uploads keep the screen on

While files are uploading, or a review copy is being prepared in your browser, the screen stays on. Previously a display that went to sleep could pause the upload or the preparation. A closed laptop lid still puts the device to sleep.

Delete your own account

You can now delete your account from Settings → Account. Work you added to other studios, such as uploads, approvals, comments and messages, stays with them and is labelled "Deleted user". If you founded a studio, deleting your account also deletes that studio, including every project, file, video, quote and member, and cancels its subscription. You have to type the studio's short name, the part of its web address before .studioscope.app, to confirm.

Also this week

The Share tab has a Share… button on browsers with a system share sheet, and the Files tab has a New folder button in its toolbar. Signed contract PDFs are kept when an archived project's files are cleaned up automatically after 14 days, and the Projects list and chat fit phone screens. The full list is on the changelog.
